Disable McAfee on Windows

The more comprehensive versions of McAfee, such as McAfee Total Protection that I am telling you about in this tutorial, also include other types of protection besides virus and malware protection.

If, instead of temporarily disabling McAfee, you decide to completely uninstall the program, go to Start> Settings (or in Start> Control Panel, if you are using a version of Windows older than 10), go to App (Or Uninstall a program, if you are using a version of Windows earlier than 10), select McAfee Total Protection from the list of programs installed on the PC and click on the button Uninstall.

Even though you don't have McAfee's antivirus installed on your PC, a McAfee Safe Connect? It does not surprise me. Disable McAfee on Mac
McAfee also offers its protection to users Mac. The Californian company, in fact, has released products such as McAfee Internet Security for Mac and McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac that allow you to protect macOS from malware designed for the Apple operating system and from "classic" viruses for Windows (which cannot attack macOS, but they should be avoided if you are sharing files with Windows PCs).
Disabling McAfee on Mac is as simple as it is on Windows. All you have to do is start the application by selecting its icon from the Launchpad macOS (the rocket icon located on the Dock bar). Then you have to click on the name of the program in the bar at the top left (eg. McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac) and will select the voice Preferences give the menu to compare.
In the window that opens, click the del icon padlock located at the bottom left, type the Password of your user account on macOS (the one you use to log in to the system) and give Submit. Then move up OFF the levers relating to the functions you want to deactivate: Threat prevention for real-time anti-malware protection, Firewall for the firewall or Web protection to protect against malicious sites and that's it.
If you change your mind, you can retrace your steps and re-enable McAfee for Mac protection by returning to the program preferences and returning to ON the levers you deactivated earlier.

Disable McAfee in the browser
McAfee has also made several browser extensions, Such as McAfee WebAdvisor, which allows you to receive alerts about infected sites while browsing with Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you have installed this extension and now need to temporarily disable it, here are all the steps you need to take.
- Chrome - if you are using the Chrome browser, click on the button? located at the top right and select the items Other tools> Extensions from the menu that appears. Disable McAfee on Android
You have installed the McAfee app to protect your device Android but have you noticed that this consumes too much battery and / or that it is not for you? Disable McAfee on iOS
