    Restore Windows 7 MBR via disk

    If you want to restore MBR Windows 7 and you are interested in understanding how to do this using the operating system installation DVD or a recovery disc (if you remember well I explained how to create it in my guide on how to create a recovery disc Windows 7) the first steps you need to do are to turn on the computer, insert the disk in your possession into it, access the BIOS and set the PC to start from the CD / DVD player.

    Generally to access the BIOS it is sufficient to repeatedly press the key to access the setup when buying the PC start-up screen. Usually, the key to enter the BIOS is F2, F10 o Canc, in any case you should find it indicated in one of the corners of the computer home screen with a message like press F2 to enter setup.

    Once you have entered the BIOS settings panel (a screen with a blue or gray background full of writings) go to the section Advanced o Boot using the arrow keys on the computer keyboard, highlight the item Boot sequence o Boot sequence and press the button Submit to change the order of devices that the computer must check to boot. Then set the unit CD / DVD ROM as a first choice, highlighting the item relating to the latter and pressing the key Submit computer keyboard, and press Esc to return to the main BIOS screen.

    After making changes, you can exit the panel and save the BIOS settings by pressing the key Esc of your computer keyboard. Then highlight the item Yes o Yes in the message about saving settings that appears in the center of the screen and press Submit to exit the BIOS and restart the computer.



    At this point the disc inserted in the computer should start automatically. Alternatively, you may see a message appear on your computer screen inviting you to press any key to boot the PC from the disk, then press any button on the keyboard.

    After following these steps and after waiting a few moments you should see a Windows 7 window named Windows installation. Then press on the button NEXT located at the bottom right and then click on the item Reset the computer.

    In the new screen that will be shown to you at this point, make sure that there is a check mark on the first option, make sure that the item is highlighted in the box in the center of the window.     In the unfortunate event that the commands indicated are not recognized, you will have to navigate to the directory of the disk inserted in the computer to understand which is the correct text string to type.     After creating the key, turn on the computer, connect it to the PC and access the BIOS in order to set the system to boot from USB. To do this, you can follow the instructions I gave you in the previous lines, when I explained how to restore Windows 7 MBR via installation CD or recovery disc, taking care, this time, to set the drive KEY as a first choice.
