Before going into the details of this guide and explaining, in detail, how to activate AppleCare, you may find it useful to know what are the necessary requirements to take advantage of the Apple service that allows you to extend the warranty of your device.
First, it will be useful to know that you can activate AppleCare + for iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and Apple Watch. The service includes up to two years of support (three years for Mac) by Apple technicians and additional hardware coverage, with even two incidents for accidental damage with repair costs lower than normal and which vary depending on the device from repair (eg 29 euros to repair an iPhone screen). You can request AppleCare + both at the time of purchasing the device of your interest (online or in store) and in 60 days after the purchase date.
For Apple TV, however, you can activate AppleCare Protection Plan, which allows you to have up to two years of technical support from experts (in addition to the two-year warranty of the seller provided by the cittàn consumer protection legislation) and other hardware assistance options. You can activate AppleCare in-store at the time of purchase or in 12 months after the date of purchase.
In both cases, it is possible to activate AppleCare both in complete autonomy, by accessing the official Apple website with your Apple ID (on iPhone and iPad also from the iOS Settings), and with the support of a consultant in the flesh, by calling Apple technical support.
Activate AppleCare after purchase
As mentioned above, AppleCare is a paid service that allows you to extend the warranty of an Apple device. In addition to activation during the purchase phase of your device, it is also possible activate AppleCare after purchase, both online and by phone with the support of a consultant from the Cupertino company. How to do? I'll explain it to you right away!
Activate AppleCare online
Be your intention è activate AppleCare online, all you have to do is access the section My support of the Apple site with your Apple ID, check if the device of your interest is eligible for the extended warranty and follow the instructions shown on the screen.
To proceed, then connected to the official Apple website, click on the button Log in to My Support, insertion and date richiesti nei campi Apple ID e Password and press the icon of freccia rivolta verse destra, to log in with your Apple ID.

After connecting to the page in question, select the device on which you want to activate the AppleCare plan by choosing between Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, iPod e Apple TV and, on the new page, click on the button Log in. Then enter theemail address and Password associated with your Apple ID in the appropriate fields and press the icon of freccia rivolta verse destra, to log in.
If the selected device is not eligible for the extended warranty, you will see the message on the screen We did not find a suitable [product name] product, indicating that you cannot activate AppleCare.
If not, you'll see the option Choose the product [device name] for coverage and the device on which you can activate AppleCare. Then click on the device of your interest and choose the option AppleCare +, to proceed with the activation of the service to extend the warranty.
Now, regardless of your previous choice to activate AppleCare, make sure in the field Country or geographical area of residence the option is set city (or your country of residence) and click on the button Select product.
In the Head device, enter your email address in the field Email address and press pulsating Send to carry out a diagnostic of your device (necessary to continue with the purchase of AppleCare).
Then access your e-mail box from the device on which you intend to activate AppleCare, locate the email sent by Apple and click on the button contained within it (eg. iOS Diagnostics if you have an iPhone / iPad), to carry out the diagnostics.
Once the test is complete, return to the screen Test the device of the Apple website and click on the button Submit the results to access the section Go to the checkout and complete the AppleCare purchase. If, on the other hand, you have not received any emails, choose the option I have not received an email to request a new submission.
It will be useful to know that, if your intention is to activate AppleCare for your iPhone or your iPad, you can also proceed from the settings of the device in use. Activate AppleCare by phone
Do you prefer to activate AppleCare with the support of a real Apple operator? In that case, you can call theApple technical support and request the activation of the service.
First, you need to write down the serial number (for iPhone and iPad the IMEI code) of the Apple device for which you want to extend the warranty. The code in question consists of 12 alphanumeric characters (15 digits for the IMEI code) and is shown both on the box of the device and in the Settings of the latter. Now I'll explain how to view it.

Activate AppleCare after 60 days
