Keep the Clean and tidy PC it is the best way not to affect the performance of our computer with the passage of time. The slow PC is almost always the too many programs installed inside. Fortunately, doing a bit of "cleaning" is not difficult, here's how to do it.
To remove a program or application from our computer there is no single method. But the traditional one is from the Control Panel. Just enter this section and look for the software to uninstall in the Program Files folder. To find it we have to click on the item "Uninstall a program" which we will find under the item Programs itself. Once this is done it will open a list with all the software installed on our computer. We can sort the list by installation date or by size. Once you have found the app to delete, just click with the right mouse button on its name and select Uninstall from the menu that will appear.
Remove pre-installed apps
Windows offers several applications by default. However, not everyone will find these programs useful. Indeed many of us have never even opened pre-installed programs like Builder 3D, Xbox App or Groove Music. So why keep them on our computer to take up memory? To disable the pre-installed apps we need to open the Windows PowerShell and type: ppxPackage *3dbuilder* | Remove-AppxPackage. In this example we have chosen Builder 3D but just enter the name of the app to be deactivated between the asterisks and that's it. If we don't want to use manual commands we can rely on a download tool called 10appsManager. The program allows us to delete default applications and also to manage downloads from the Windows Store.
Safe mode
If problems with applications prevent us from using the computer properly, we can always operate the machine in safe mode to eliminate programs harmful to PC performance. There are two methods to activate Safe Mode: from the settings or from the login screen. In the first case you have to press the Windows key (the window icon) plus I. At this point you must select Update and Security from the menu that will appear and then the Restore item. From the Advanced Startup section that will open we have to select "restart now". After restarting the PC in the screen Choose an option, select Troubleshooting > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. After your PC restarts, you will see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in safe mode. If you plan to use the Internet instead, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking. To do the same operation from the login screen, restart your PC and when the login screen is displayed, hold down the SHIFT key while selecting restart. After restarting the PC in the screen Choose an option, select Troubleshooting > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. Again after restarting your PC, you will see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. If you plan to use the internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking instead.
Data recovery
If the elimination of a couple of programs was not enough to make our computer faster then the advice is to perform a reset of our data. Starting from a backup, or restoring the settings to the factory state.
